Medway cardiac arrest survivor meets life-saving team

A Medway man, who suffered a cardiac arrest at Chatham railway station, has been reunited with some of the team who helped save his life. Dean Upton, now 53, from Maidstone, collapsed at the station on the evening of 11 April 2022. He and his family visited South East Coast Ambulance Service’s (SECAmb) Make Ready Centre in Gillingham recently to thank some of those who responded.

Staff gather to mark Cherstey Make Ready Centre reopening

Almost a year to the day since a burst mains water pipe in the road outside caused a massive flood, the weekend saw celebrations get underway to mark the re-opening of Chertsey Make Ready Centre after a £500,000 upgrade. Whilst repair work needed to be undertaken, the opportunity was seized to also carry out some much-needed improvements to the staff facilities at the MRC.
