Dr Subo Shanmuganathan

South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb) has welcomed a new Independent Non-Executive Director.

Dr Subo Shanmuganathan took up her position on the Trust’s Board of Directors this week (1 March 2021) and will serve a three-year term of office.

Subo has a varied career in complex education, clinical and regulatory executive roles and has held several non-executive roles.

She brings extensive knowledge and experience of strategic business change, organisational development, education and training and transformation programmes to deliver commercial revenue, gained in both the charitable and public sectors. Her PhD is in Clinical Immunovirology from Imperial College London.

Chair of SECAmb, David Astley, said: “We are really pleased that Subo is joining SECAmb at this time. Her experience in people management and processes will provide relevant experience and challenge to support the continuing improvement of our HR provision to SECAmb colleagues. Subo also brings a wealth of knowledge about education, training and professional regulation which will add value to the Board. I look forward to welcoming Subo to our March Board meeting.”

As well as undertaking her Board duties, Subo will be joining the Trust’s Finance and Investment Committee and Quality and Patient Safety Committee.

Subo said: “I am delighted to be joining SECAmb knowing that our staff are doing such an important job for our communities, particularly during the pandemic. I am excited to be involved in the great work of the Trust and am really looking forward to meeting all the staff and governors.”
