As part of supporting Remembrance events this year, Trust vehicles have again been wrapped with a specially designed livery recognising the sacrifice of those who gave their lives in times of conflict.

Following suggestions from our Armed Forces Network, this year’s design – which is funded by Fleet – includes a Spitfire, marking its upcoming 90th anniversary, and VJ Day, which commemorated its 80th anniversary this year.

“It looks fabulous, really great,” said ECSW Maxine Lockwood, watching a vehicle wrap being applied at Banstead MRC. “I’d like to see us keep it for more than a month. It’s part of our history, and we have a lot of former military personnel who work for the ambulance service.”

Produced by Hastings-based Jellyfish Design, the livery must fit within certain practical criteria to ensure each vehicle stays operational, such as not covering the reflective side panels.

The Jellyfish team clean and dry the surface of each vehicle, measure and apply the wrap, make cuts to fit around door hinges and windows and then heat the wrap to help it stick completely to the surface.

It’s the seventh year that Jellyfish have designed and wrapped Remembrance livery for SECAmb. The company has kept its costs the same throughout that time.

“It’s a way of giving back," said Justyn Higgs, who founded Jellyfish 16 years ago. “It’s a time where we can help out. And I’m old school, I suppose – I believe you look after the emergency services, because they look after the community.”

Lee-Ann Witney, Fleet Business Support Manager, said it was a joy to support an annual event that is valued by so many colleagues, and thanked the teams across the Trust who had organised the 12 vehicles carrying the livery and had got them to and from the MRCs as needed.
