Members of the public are invited to learn
more about their local ambulance service by attending South East
Coast Ambulance Service’s (SECAmb’s) Annual Members Meeting.

The meeting takes place on Friday 20 September 2019 at East
Sussex National Resort in Uckfield, East Sussex. Those attending
will also have the opportunity to learn life-saving resuscitation
skills, view some of the Trust’s newest ambulances and discover how
they can get more involved in working or volunteering with
SECAmb.

New SECAmb Chief Executive, Philip Astle, who was appointed to
the role earlier this year and formally took up his position this
week, (2 September), will outline the Trust’s plans for further
improvement following its ‘Good’ CQC rating in August.

There will be a large exhibition of health and ambulance service
information stands, some of our latest 999 vehicles on display
outside the venue and a display from our Hazardous Area Response
Team. Attendees will also be encouraged to take part in an
interactive session on what happens when you call 999.

The exhibition and vehicle display will open from 1.15pm with
the AMM running from 2.30pm-4.30pm.

The Trust’s Council of Governors meeting, which the public are
also welcome to attend will take place before the AMM at the same
venue from 10am-1pm.

SECAmb Chief Executive Philip Astle said: “I’m looking forward
to attending my first SECAmb Annual Members Meeting and meeting and
speaking with everyone including staff, volunteers, governors and
members of the public.

“It will be a really interesting afternoon and I’d urge people
to come along and find out what we are doing to further improve
patient care across our region.”
