Colleagues at Medway Operating Unit have raised more than £700 by taking part in a Movember challenge in memory of Sheppey colleague, Ryan O’Bray.

Led by Paramedics Rory and Dan, the campaign saw colleagues proudly growing moustaches throughout November, honouring Ryan’s life while shining a light on men’s mental health, suicide prevention, and prostate and testicular cancer.

Together, the team raised £720, with every single penny donated to Ryan’s Legacy which is a GoFundMe page set up by Sheppey Paramedic Dan, which aims to purchase defibrillators and provide essential first aid training for the Sheppey community in Kent.

The fundraising reached a milestone on Friday, 5 December, when colleagues presented a cheque to Ryan’s mum, Lisa, at Sheppey Ambulance Station.

Lisa was joined by Sheppey colleagues and Paramedics Lee, Rory and Dan and Associate Ambulance Practitioner Charlie.

Dan said: “This campaign was a chance to remember a friend, support one another, and ensure that Ryan’s legacy continues to make a difference, just as he once did.”
