A SECAmb NHS 111 Paramedic and Clinical Advisor plays a leading role in a new national campaign launched by NHS England today (4 December).

Kent-based, Natalie Randall, stars in the campaign, which centres on a short film – ‘24 Hours not in A&E’.

Playing homage to the format of popular TV documentary ‘24 Hours in A&E’, the film is set over the course of a single day. It follows real-life scenarios where patients receive timely support through NHS 111, the NHS App, community pharmacies and GP online services – encouraging the public to use a range of services available to support patients with a non-emergency need.

The campaign aims to improve the public’s understanding of the different NHS services available as we head into winter and help ease pressure on emergency departments.

Natalie, who has worked for SECAmb since 2004, came off the road as a paramedic in 2017 to join SECAmb’s NHS 111 service.

She said: “I was really happy to be involved in the film and to play a part in helping communicate how the NHS can get people the right care they need.  At NHS 111 we’re there to help people 24/7 and I would urge people to remember that we’re here to help them this winter."

Available to share across SECAmb and NHS social media channels, the film can be viewed on youtube here
