Members of the public are invited to enter the festive spirit and join an evening of songs and celebration at special service to celebrate the lives that have been saved and touched by the ambulance service.

South East Coast Ambulance’s (SECAmb) is hosting its first-ever Celebration of Life service on Monday 8 December from 6.30pm at St Nicholas Church, Sevenoaks. The service will see patients, ambulance staff, volunteers and the public gather to celebrate together ahead of Christmas.

Tickets for the event are free but limited and must be booked in advance via the link below.

The SECAmb Soundwaves Choir, a group made up of staff and volunteers from across the service, will perform selected songs with everyone invited to join in the singing of carols.

St Nicholas Church’s Rector, Angus MacLeay, will lead the service, which will also include stories from those whose lives have been saved. The service will last approximately one hour and will be followed by refreshments and mince pies.

SECAmb Chief Executive, Simon Weldon said: “Every year our teams touch the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients as well as their families and friends.

“They respond at all hours and the impact their care has on our communities is hugely significant. From expert clinical care to save lives, to small moments of compassion that can mean so much – I am extremely proud of their dedication and commitment.

“This special event provides us with a chance to recognise everything our colleagues do and celebrate alongside those they have helped and the communities they are read to respond to all year round.”
