The Datix system will be unavailable for the whole
day on Friday, 31 March between 09.00 and 17.00 whilst they
transfer updates from the test site to the live site. The admin
access will still be available.

I’ve written a
manual IWR-1 form
for people to use on Friday, 31
March (ONLY) which can be completed following an incident and
submitted to their nominated ODA Administrator. There are also
some
Manual Form guidance
notes.

The ODA Administrator can then enter
the incidents the following day once the system is back up and
running. This process has been agreed by AD of Quality &
Patient Safety (QPS).

  • Following discussion with our
consultant at Datix the schedule of Datix drop-in sessions and
workshops has been withdrawn. The plan for roll-out is now to train
a pool of super-users who will then cascade the training
    locally.

If you would like to make an expression
of interest to become a Datix super-user please contact us at
incident.enquiries@secamb.nhs.uk
– the closing date will be Friday, 31 March.

All super-users will receive a full
day’s training from Datix which can be added to your Continued
Professional Development (CPD) folder.

By attending the course you will learn
the whole functionality of the incident reporting system and best
practice guidance for completion of IWR-1 and IWR-2 forms. The date
of training is yet to be confirmed but will be announced as soon as
this is confirmed with Datix.

If you would like to share your ideas
on how we can improve the current incident reporting process please
send them to incident.enquiries@secamb.nhs.uk
.
