Simon Warner-Ingate has been re-elected for a further two-year term as Deputy Chair of the Armed Forces Network, continuing his work to strengthen support for colleagues with military connections.

A Operations Manager Clinical and Paramedic by background, Simon brings both operational leadership and lived armed forces experience to the role. He joined the ambulance service in 2004 after completing nine years in the Royal Air Force (RAF), where his career began at just 17 as an airfield crash rescue firefighter.

During his time in the RAF, Simon was stationed at RAF Marham, RAF Bruggen in Germany and RAF Wittering, serving three years at each location. His service also included two tours of the Falkland Islands, a tour in Cyprus and a deployment to Kosovo over the millennium Christmas and New Year period during the conflict.

In his role as Deputy Chair, Simon works alongside Network Chair, Gareth Williams to engage members, support projects and ensure the network remains a strong voice for our armed forces community. His re-election provides continuity at a time when the network is looking to grow its visibility and impact.

Looking ahead to 2026, Simon has ambitious plans including producing more episodes of The Reload, the network’s own internal podcast which gives colleagues and subject matter experts a platform to share stories and experiences.
