A decade of support is being celebrated as Trauma Risk Management, better known as TRiM, a programme that has become a vital part of supporting staff wellbeing marks a key milestone.

What began as a pilot in the Guildford Operating Unit in 2015 and rolled out across the Trust in 2017 has grown into a trusted framework helping colleagues cope with distressing or potentially traumatic incidents.

Over the last 10 years, the Trust has trained a network of TRiM coordinators and practitioners who have supported colleagues in the aftermath of challenging incidents, whether directly involved or supporting others.

More than 1,600 colleagues have been supported through the programme, which has played a key role in normalising conversations about mental health, embedding a culture of peer-to-peer care, and connecting people with professional support when needed.

Ten years of TRiM is more than a milestone, it’s a celebration of the care, compassion and resilience of colleagues. It is a reminder that looking after each other is central to delivering the very best care to the communities they serve.
