Nominations for candidates to stand for election in a number of our Council of Governor constituencies opened today (September 1).
If you’re a Foundation Trust member and interested in standing for election to become a governor, you have until Monday 2 October to submit your entry.
Anyone who is not currently a member is also able to stand in this round of elections after joining as a member.
Our governors play a vital role in representing the public and working with our Trust Board. Our Council of Governors plays an important role in the governance of the Trust. It appoints the Chair and Non-Executive Directors, as well as the Trust’s external auditor. In addition, it is kept informed about the Trust’s plans and the structure is designed to provide patients and the public with assurance that the Trust is putting the patient at the heart of all we do.
The Council is made up of 24 people; 13 publicly elected governors, four staff-elected governors and seven governors appointed from organisations we work closely with.
