Message to staff regarding Sussex PTS

The Trust would like to pay tribute to the dedication and
professionalism of all Patient Transport Service staff who are
affected by the changes to the contract for the county which
commences on Friday (1 April)

From Friday the management of the new patient
transport service in Sussex will transfer to Coperforma with the
transport facilities being provided by two subcontracted firms,
Thames Ambulance Service and VM Langfords.

Many staff have transferred under TUPE
conditions to the new provider while some have taken retirement and
others will continue with the Trust. A number of volunteer car
drivers will also continue under the new service.

Acting chief executive Geraint Davies paid
tribute to the many years of service so many had given to the Trust
and said: “It is a sad time but the new providers are fortunate to
be getting such well-trained, committed and loyal staff who I am
sure will continue to provide the best for their patients in
Sussex. I wish them all the very best for the future and thank them
for their professionalism.”

Management and patients have paid compliment
to the exceptional service these many staff have provided over the
years.

PTS manager Karen Dawes added: “SECAmb is
proud to have such committed and patient centred staff in PTS, and
value each and everyone’s contribution to delivering a fantastic
service to the population of Sussex and Surrey”.

The Trust would like to thank all those staff
for their outstanding commitment and service and wish them well
with the new provider.
