More than a hundred people came together this week to mark the outstanding achievements of some of our SECAmb Stars, who have recently completed their learning.
The Celebrating Success Ceremony, held on 1 October, recognised the achievements of 60 of our learners including Emergency Care Support Workers (ECSWs), Associate Ambulance Practitioners (AAPs), Advanced Paramedic Practitioners (APPs) and Student Paramedics who completed the in-house degree programme provided by University of Cumbria.
We were delighted to be joined at the event by our education partners from Crawley College, the University of Cumbria and St George’s University London who deliver courses for our people.
Alongside the academic achievements of all of our learners being celebrated, special awards were also presented to a number of our learners, recognising the effort that is needed to learn while continuing to serve our patients; winners included:
- Michele Neep for Crawley College’s ECSW Outstanding Learner
- Mandy Nash for University of Cumbria’s Paramedic Degree Most Improved Learner
- Philip Taylor for University of Cumbria’s Paramedic Degree Outstanding Learner
- Michelle Skillington for St George’s MSc APP Outstanding Learner
- Jay Spink for St George’s MSC APP Outstanding Commitment
In closing the event, Chief Executive Simon Weldon who helped present certificates to colleagues, said: “It is so important we mark these moments and take time to truly reflect on the journey they have been on.
“It was very much an honour and a privilege to celebrate the achievements of our people and recognise the support of loved ones, families and friends who were able to join us and celebrate their accomplishments too.”
