South East Coast Ambulance Service is keen to hear from members of the public willing to take up a voluntary non-clinical support role supporting its frontline teams.
Community Resilience Support Volunteers’ primary role will be to crew or drive one of the Trust’s welfare support vehicles, serving welfare facilities including drinks and food to colleagues at times of significant demand or at pre-booked public engagement events.
A friendly face or a listening ear, the role may also see individuals collating training materials, delivering equipment or restocking the support vehicles.
SECAmb is looking for people aged over 18 with a UK full driving licence who can display kindness and compassion in all that they do. Successful applicants will be able to volunteer a minimum of five hours each month and commit to a two-year term of volunteering. They must also live within 30 minutes driving time from one of the Trust’s Medway, Brighton, Chichester or Banstead bases.
SECAmb Community Resilience Manager, Sue Orchard said: “This is an exciting opportunity for caring, compassionate members of the community for this role which will play a key role in supporting the Trust, our colleagues, fellow volunteers and the communities we serve. This role will make a real difference to colleagues and patients every shift.”
