More than 250 people came together last week to celebrate the outstanding achievements of South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) latest cohort of learners, as they take their next steps into frontline care.
The Celebrating Success Ceremony, held at Lingfield Park on Friday, 8 April, celebrated the achievements of 86 colleagues who have recently completed their learning.
The ceremony brought together paramedic graduates alongside newly qualified associate ambulance practitioners (AAPs) and emergency care support workers (ECSWs) with their family and friends to recognise their accomplishments.
Opening the event was Chief Paramedic Officer, Jaqui Lindridge, who congratulated the graduates on their dedication and perseverance.
“You should all be so proud of what you have accomplished,” she said. “The commitment and resilience you’ve shown throughout your learning journey has been outstanding and today is a celebration of everything you’ve worked so hard for.”
The principal of our educational partner Crawley College, Christine Bianchin, was then invited to the stage to present our ECSWs and AAPs with their certificates.
The second half of the ceremony congratulated our newly qualified paramedics presented by Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Apprentices at the University of Cumbria, Corina Downing, alongside Interim CEO at SECAmb, Jen Allan.
In recognition of the resilience, commitment and hardships overcome throughout the learning journey, special awards were presented to:
- Medway based Elizabeth Agyemang for ECSW Outstanding Learner
- Banstead based Anthony Gunning for AAP Most Improved Learner
- Chertsey based Alison Card for NQP Outstanding Learner
- Thanet based Louis Crichton for NQP Outstanding Learner
- Dartford based Stacie Smith for NQP Most Improved Learner
To close the awards ceremony, Jen Allan, took to the stage to congratulate all learners on their fantastic achievements.
