2 Day Paediatric Course

First Aid Courses

This is a two-day course that is compliant with OFSTED and certificated for three years and will teach you the knowledge needed for dealing with an emergency associated with babies and children.

Who should attend?

Anyone that has any responsibility for babies and children, such as nurseries, childminders, nannys and teachers.

This course includes

  • Assessing the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency.

  • Administering first aid to a paediatric casualty who is unconscious due to seizures, Drowning, choking, asphyxiation, wounded, bleeding or suffering from shock

  • Administering CPR to a child or infant and the different protocols for different ages

  • Providing appropriate first aid for minor injuries including small cuts and grazes, bruises, minor burns and scalds and small splinters

  • Administering first aid to a child or infant during a febrile convulsion, with head injuries and falls

  • Understanding childhood ailments such as mumps, measles, chicken pox, rubella, croup, whooping cough and meningitis.

  • Recording and reporting incidents.


There is continuous assessment throughout the course and a theory test on day two.


On completion the successful candidate will receive a certificate that is valid for three years and a training manual.

£150 per person, £1,400 for a group of 12.
