CFR success stories
Just a few examples where Community First Responders
really have made a difference:
Just two hours after a successful home birth, baby Joshua turned
blue and went limp. Community First Responder, Mrs Greenfield was
first on scene. The baby was successfully resuscitated.
Elizabeth Greenfield, 53, is a volunteer Community First
Responder, in Ashington, near Horsham.
Eighteen-year-old Joe said: “I was at home watching television
when my Dad walked through the door; he had his hands on his chest.
I looked at him and knew he was having a heart attack”.
Joe had only just finished his training for the
recently-launched Community First Responder scheme in his local
village. He said: “I had the responder kit on me at the time; I
knew what was going on, the training just kicked in”.
