PTS Staff

Patient Transport Services

If you want to give great care and make a huge difference in your community then a place in our Patient Transport Service (PTS) could be the place for you.

It will be your responsibility to provide the best transportation service to elderly and vulnerable patients to get them to pre-arranged hospital appointments or to other treatment centres such as day-care facilities or special schools or clinics. This is not just a taxi service, you will be providing a high quality of care and ensuring that your patients get to where they need to be on time and in the best, safest and most appropriate way.

You will have the opportunity to work on special patient journeys, including transferring babies or mental health patients, and moving patients from a hospital to a hospice if they are nearing the end of life. You will receive extra training and support to manage these different and challenging situations.

PTS staff are trained in patient care and assessment, basic life support, manual handling, airway management as well as being able to recognise the signs and symptoms of many conditions.
