Members' feedback

We ask our members to complete a short survey to tell us what they think of their membership, and whether it gives them the opportunity to be involved in the Trust as they would like. Outcomes of our surveys are reported in the Your Call newsletter.

Membership involvement and volunteering

We advertise volunteer opportunities in our member newsletter, Your Call. You can also find information on volunteering as a Community First Responder here.

A representative group of our public members are part of our Inclusion Hub Advisory Group, they work closely with us to advise on our plans. Vacancies in the group will also be advertised in the membership newsletter, Your Call. Read more about our commitment to inclusion and involvement.

‘Your Call 2015’ event for members

Thank you to all our members who completed last year’s membership survey. You told us that you would like the opportunity to attend local events to hear about SECAmb's services in your area, and to meet and learn more about your local Governors and their role in representing the interests of the public in the areas they serve.

With that in mind, we held our first 'Your Call 2015' member event in May at the Holiday Inn Ashford Central where we welcomed just over 40 members to the event.

At the event we heard from our Kent Public Governors and the following staff on SECAmb’s service in the area:

Chris Stamp - Senior Operations Manager in Deal
Andy Burton - Senior Operations Manager in Thanet
Richard Harker - Clinical Centre Manager at Ashford Make Ready Centre
Nick Keech - Clinical Operations Manager in Thanet
Claire Dowdall - Resource Centre Manager at Ashford Make Ready Centre
Ash Capel - Community Partnership Lead

Subjects covered at the event included our 999 and 111 services, our Community Paramedic programme, Make Ready Centres. and Community First Responder service. An overview of the Trust was given by Tony Thorne, SECAmb's Chairman. Members were able to talk to their local Governors and there was a very active question and answer session!

We audio recorded the 2016 'Your Call' events in Sussex and NE Hampshire, they can be found above.

SECAmb Annual Members Meeting 2014
All our members, patients, and the public were invited to attend South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust’s Annual Members Meeting (AMM) which took place on the 25th September 2014 at The Orchards Events Venue in East Malling, Kent. We would like to thank all that attended, we hope you found the day informative and enjoyable.

The event included a range of stalls, highlighting many different areas of our work inlcuding our Patient Transport Service, NHS 111, our Make Ready Centres and much more. There were also stalls from local organisations including Kent Association of Local Councils, Healthwatch Kent, Parkinson's UK, and The Alzheimer's Society.

There was the opportunity to meet our staff and learn more about what we do, as well as to meet the Council of Governors and the Board of Directors, and hear about the Trust’s activities over the past year. We welcomed just over 150 people to the event, and below you will find copies of the presentations featured on the day, a link to view our 2014 Survivors film, and questions from the Q&A that we committed to providing answers to, that we could not respond to on the day due to the volume of questions submitted.
