14 May 2018

NHS Employers logoSouth East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb) is pleased to have been ben chosen as one of NHS Employers Diversity and Inclusion Partners for 2018/19 following a successful application process.

The announcement comes as part of Equality and Diversity Week 2018 and will see SECAmb work with NHS Employers and other organisations throughout the year to support system-wide efforts to improve the measurement of diversity, inclusion and equality across the health and social care system.

SECAmb, which has also recently been awarded the government’s Disability Confident Employer status, is one of 40 NHS organisations to have been chosen as a partner for the year ahead.

Work will include a specific focus on areas including the Workforce Disability Equality Standard, the Learning Disability Employment Programme, the Sexual Orientation Monitoring standard and gender pay gap reporting.

The focus of the programme is based on four developmental modules that provide partners with detailed strategic policy support, the opportunity to undertake personal development and a forum to share good practice and network with fellow colleagues in the NHS, and other diversity and inclusion subject matter experts.

SECAmb Head of Inclusion and Wellbeing Angela Rayner said: “We’re really looking forward to being part of this partnership work to strengthen this vitally important area both within SECAmb and across the country. We have always been committed to promoting equality and inclusion in the provision of our services and to our employees and participating in this programme will provide us with additional support to further build on what we have already achieved.”
