07 August 2017

Pride parade 2017South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust would like to thank the public for their support at this year’s Brighton and Hove Pride event.

The Trust would also like to thank all staff and volunteers who worked across what is always a busy weekend both out on the road and in the Trust’s control centres.

More than 100 staff, including the Trust’s chief executive Daren Mochrie attended the Pride parade on Saturday (August 5) alongside an ambulance featuring a special Pride design.

Ahead of the weekend staff from ambulance services across the country gathered at the Amex Stadium as the Trust hosted a successful conference organised by the National Ambulance LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender) Network.

This year’s conference focussed on five key areas - Mental health needs of LGBT patients and staff, supporting trans colleagues, the health and support needs of older LGBT people, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and promoting dignity and respect.

Chair of the Pride in SECAmb staff network Will Bellamy said: “We had another fantastic turnout and I’d like to thank every single member of staff who attended and also the public for their amazing support. It was really well received by everyone. Also, operationally it’s always a very busy weekend. I’d also like to thank all my colleagues and our volunteers who worked throughout the weekend to keep everyone safe.”
