SECAmb staff join thousands at Pride
03 September 2012
South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb)
celebrated this weekend by once again joining thousands attending
Pride Brighton & Hove on Saturday (1 September).
More than 60 staff walked with the Trust’s float in the parade
in what was the sixth consecutive year SECAmb as a trust has
attended Pride. In 2008 SECAmb became just the second ambulance
trust in the country to join Stonewall’s equality programme.
SECAmb works in partnership with Stonewall, and other
organisations to promote gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender
equality in the workplace and to ensure that the Trust is a
workplace of choice where all employees can be themselves at
work.
Geraint Davies, Director of Commercial Services and Chair of
Pride in SECAmb said: “I am immensely proud of the staff that took
part in this year's parade and the fantastic response we received
from the crowds lining the streets. This is an excellent
opportunity for SECAmb to show how we value diversity by supporting
our staff and the public we are proud to serve.”
