Commendation categories

Is there one of your colleagues that you think deserves special recognition for "going the extra mile" , who has done something extraordinary or who is delivering extra patient care?

Then why not nominate them for a Chief Executive's Commendation?

There are seven different categories which are eligible to both full and part time staff. There is also an award for a member of the public who has performed an outstanding act.

You can nominate who you wish, but the recommendation should at least be supported by the initiating person’s immediate line manager, and will need to be signed off by a Senior Manager. There is of course a form involved, but it is fairly painless… We just need the nominees’ personal details, the category that they are being nominated for, and of course, why you are nominating them. The categories are as follows:

Clinical Excellence
Above and beyond the call of duty
Outstanding patient care
Team of the year
Employee of the year
Leadership
Public Commendation

This guidance form details the criteria of each of the categories and the closing date for nominations is 3 February 2012.

The two ceremony dates remain Thursday 8 March for the east of the region and Thursday 29 March for the west of the region.
